Exam domains
What AI-901 mainly checks
1. Identify AI concepts and responsibilities
This covers responsible AI, generative AI model behavior, model selection, deployment options, configuration parameters, and common workloads such as text analysis, speech, computer vision, information extraction, generative AI, and agentic AI.
- Responsible AI principles: fairness, reliability, privacy, inclusiveness, transparency, accountability.
- Model concepts: prompts, tokens, context, temperature, grounding, multimodal inputs, image generation, evaluation.
- Workloads: sentiment, key phrase extraction, entity recognition, summarization, speech to text, text to speech, image analysis, OCR, form/document extraction.
2. Implement AI solutions using Microsoft Foundry
This is the larger domain. It checks whether you can use Microsoft Foundry concepts to deploy models, test prompts, create lightweight clients, build agents, use tools, work with speech/text/vision, and extract information from documents, images, audio, and video.
- Foundry portal: select, deploy, test, evaluate, and monitor models.
- Foundry SDK: connect to deployments and call models from code.
- Agents: instructions, tools, knowledge, testing, and lightweight app integration.
